Water, conserve it..........

Water is one of the main resources that sustain life. Water is seeing by many as a ‘renewable’ resource, but most don’t understand is that water. Like everything else water comes in a quantity, if used wisely that quantity can be preserved.  Much of the quantity that we use daily, comes from fresh water which only accounts for three percent (3%) of the worlds water. Much of the water is ‘salt water’ hence it can be used but not directly.
Water Quantities may not last if we start to be careless.  An immense amount of water is found in the world’s oceans, which account for seventy-five percent (75%) of the world’s water. A further seventy-percent (70%) of fresh water is frozen in the ice caps of Antarctica and Greenland. By using simple methods to conserve water around your home, you can help save water bill and conserve freshwater.
There are many ways in which we can save fresh water. Always make sure that you turn off the water taps every time you use the bathroom, kitchen, hose or any water appliance around the house. Simple methods such as filling a pan or bucket can do the work for you. By doing this you are saving and not wasting excessive amounts of water, but saving usable amounts that you can use in the future.  When doing your washing always make sure to wash full loads. By doing so, you will have fewer loads, thus save more water. Water your lawn with care; don’t let your sprinklers run without setting a limited amount of water it can use and always make sure that excessive water is not spilled out of the lawn and  onto the sidewalk. Reuse water if possible, if there’s a lick, place a cup or bucket underneath and collect water. Always react when there’s a leak, deal with it quickly. Upgrading appliances helps a lot, newer models of appliances such as washing machines consume less water. Finally choose plants wisely, pick a plant that consumes less water.
